State parks have state employees, you need a private or corporate campground.

Not really, murffdog. State parks do accept volunteer workampers on a regular basis. My husband and I workamped for a month last August at the Natural Tunnel State Park in Virginia. They actually accept volunteers who would be willing to work for one or two months. We chose to give it a try and did just a month, and it was a lot of fun.

Do these volunteer things accept solo workampers?

I don't really see why they wouldn't, melissa.

Yes, they do welcome solo and couple volunteers to workamp.
