Nasty Itch After Hiking
Went hiking with a couple of friends yesterday, and now I'm suffering from a nasty itch on my legs. Was wearing jeans and had my hiking boots on to make sure that my skin wouldn't come into contact with anything. Any ideas on what's causing this and how do I treat this? It's driving me crazy!

Could be that you may have brushed on some poison ivy while you were hiking and got some of it through your pants.

If you have little red spots, it could be Chiggers, especially if you were in slightly taller grass.

Re: Nasty Itch After Hiking
How thin were the pants that you were wearing when you went hiking? If they were rather thick, then it could just simply be a case of dry skin. But if they were thin, then it could be the chiggers or poison ivy. Try remedying it with some lotion or petroleum jelly first and see if it improves.

You somewhere in the south? Thick pants or thin pants make no difference, you somehow got chiggers. Put clear nail polish over to itch, it will stop. Your local drug store has chigger ointment.
