Condensation, moisture and rain can eventually wash away the waterproof used on the tent. Washing it does the same thing. I use Nikwax to make it waterproof again. Pretty nifty. Just spray it on and you're good to go.

If you're an avid tent camper, you'll need to waterproof it every few years. Not really because they don't treat them to become waterproof. It's just that overtime, the waterproofing that they apply on it just gets washed away. Have been using ReviveX Dry Waterproofing spray for my tents.

The same thing applies to your outdoor jackets. Make it a point to waterproof them, especially during the cooler months.
