License Tags for Motorhomes in Michigan
My parents recently moved to Michigan because they learned that the property taxes were much cheaper there. On top of that, they don't charge any income tax on retirement income sources. Yesterday, my dad ranted to me that there was apparently a huge catch: they charge super huge taxes on vehicles. They were quoted by the Secretary of State about $700++ just so that they could get their motorhome's license tags. The reason was that the base price of their Motorhome was at $126,000 when they got it. For those living in Michigan, I just want to ask if this is really how much they need to pay for their tags?!?!

Sad to say, but that's just about right for the tags. At least, that's what my friend living there told me when I mentioned this to her.

Hmmm...that sounds a wee bit too high. My sister and her husband had to pay about a little over $750/year. That's considering that they got a personalized plate for their Motorhome, as well as stickers for entrances to the National Parks.
