Fire Pits Now Illegal in California???
A friend of mine just told me that the California Coastal Commission is planning on making fire pits on all beaches and campgrounds in and near Newport Beach because the homeowners there have been complaining a lot about the smoke coming from them.

I'm really hoping that this isn't true. After all, just how much smoke comes from fire pits in these beaches and campgrounds anyway? Still, it would be great if anyone can shed some light on this.

Thanks!

Not sure about the campgrounds, but yes, they are going to start banning fire rings in beaches. Found an article about it here: Newport council votes to remove beach fire rings

Sad, but true. I heard it's because of the stuff that they use in these fire pits. Not sure how true they are though, but some would burn like tires and other really nasty stuff in them. I guess we all now have to pay the price of the actions done by others.
