I have an oven in our trailer and have used it for the first two years. But it is smaller then the one at home and keeping an even temperature and having hot spots was burning some of the things that I made. Lucky that we take our two big dogs with us they will eat just about anything!

I have found a very good trick to stop burning stuff in the oven. I went out and bought a rectangular pizza stone that fits in the oven and covers almost the whole lower rack. I keep it in there all the time. It helps to keep the temperature even and helps with the hot spots in the oven. Just leave it in all the time so it can heat up with the oven and won't break or crack. I still have room on the upper rack for baking things like muffins in the morning. Or if need be you can move the upper rack and put it right on top of the pizza stone and that gives me room for things like casseroles and even roasting whole chicken or a roast. I have also been buying smaller pans and trays for baking and roasting for that oven. So instead of doing a tray of 12 muffins in the morning we bake six and save the batter for the rest for the next morning and put something different in them. There is nothing like the smell of fresh muffins in the oven on a cool morning outside. Fresh muffins and hot coffee what a way to start off the day camping. We have some friends who have a big fifth wheel camper. they have had it for over ten years and have never even used the oven in it! Boy they don't know what they are missing!
