Hi I am new to this forum and wondering about titanium cooking stuff. I’ve found some vendors likes light my fire, timberbrother or etc selling titanium spork on Amazon but I still had no idea if titanium stuff is the best option for camping…

I think you're over thinking this, most of us use plain silverware, as in the cheapest, or plastic ware.
For cooking, we use cast iron, or teflon, if you're tent camping, use whatever is the lightest, including paper plates & plastic ware. |

| For truck camping, I bring my cast iron skillet and my camp dutch oven. Givesme the most recipe options and weight isnt an issue. The day I cant lift these into the back of the truck is the day I check into the old folks home. ;) some might think I should already have checked in. |

Titanium is generally used by ultralight hikers who want to cut down on the weight in their packs because they want to walk 15+ miles per day, and every ounce impacts their performance/ability. While titanium is very lightweight, and also heat resistant enough to deal with the open flames of camp fires, it is not a particularly good metal for cooking as it insulates and prevents heat from spreading throughout pots, pans, or other cooking vessels. As a result, among other potential problems, inexperienced campfire cooks may end up with unevenly heated meals, burnt on one side, and lukewarm on the other. It is excellent as a receptacle for boiling water to cook couscous, rice, pasta, roman noodles, or rehydrate meals (all the type of stuff long distance hikers eat to reduce their food weight), but that pretty much rounds out its culinary use. Titanium is also expensive.
In general, if you need titanium, you would know that you need it, and why. If you are unsure, I would save yourself a couple of bucks and go with the same general cookware you use at home. Be warned campfires get so hot they may melt aluminum pots/pans, so you want to make sure yours are steel or iron. If you are a tent camper, and really feel the need to pop down some cash for cookware, I would suggest you look at a cast iron pan. While like titanium they are pricey, they are authentic and hold up extremely well in campfires and under camping conditions. They will also heat your food evenly, and require much less cleaning and care than most other cookware exposed to a campfire. |

| Hello Stonetic88, I would say titanium is good for camping because of the food will not stick to titanium and also oil or water no need for cooking so you can get the full nutrients in the food. I'm using titanium pan while camping. For me, it's good anyways just ask some more suggestions. Thank you! |
