Get to the point or stop and smell the roses?

The beauty of going on a road trip is the unlimited possibility of what will transpire on the trip. If you have the time, you can have many "side adventures" on your way to your final destination. But not everyone has the time to "stop and smell the roses". And others simply want to get to their final destination as quickly as possible.

How do you travel? Are you a get to the point type of traveler, or do you like the adventure?

Usually, when we are on the road, we are headed to somewhere specific, & to that end, we just want to get there, Then relax.

Over the years we have done it both ways, the latest up, down and around the Great Smoky Mtns, and the Blue Ridge.
