Oregon State Park Fee "Hike"

It has been 13 years since Oregon State Park camping and day-use fees have been raised. On September 29th, the OSPRC voted to increase the day-use fee from $3 to $5 per vehicle. Campsite rates will increase by $4 per night for RVs and $3 per night for tent campers. The fee hike goes into effect May 1, 2010, and will impact the millions of campers who visit Oregon's state parks every year.

Campers and RVers seem to agree that the fee increase is acceptable as long as it leads to genuine improvements in campground maintenance and services.

I wish other prices stayed the same for 13 years too! Can you imagine?! Good on Oregon for raising prices. Upkeep for parks cost money and I'm more than happy to pay twice the amount if they are able to preserve for generations to come. well done Oregon.

Two bucks in 13 years is not bad at all, especially if they put it back into the parks, unfortunately, some states put the increase in revenue into the "General Fund", which means any politician with a pet project can get their grubby fingers into it, while the parks continue to suffer.
