South of the Border - Worth a Visit?
Is South of the Border in SC worth the visit? I've passed by it too many times to count but never took the time to actually check the place out.

never been there, I only know in NC, especially in Wilmington which is a pretty cool place to stay for a few days by the beach, you can just rent a boat and go fishing in nice areas

I think so - but not more than once. It's very tacky, a poor version of Wall Drug Store in South Dakota.

Good for fireworks if you cannot get them in your State.

You're better off driving right on by the place. It's scuzzy, dirty, and low budget. But if that's what you're into then, by all means ;-)

I agree with Damien. We went once, and the place was run down. It appears they spend all their money on billboards and not on the facilities. There are numerous touristy gift shops, but they all have the same thing in them.

We drove over to the campground to check it out, but it looked run down, too, so we've never been back.
