I recently bought a 2004 Ford Expedition to pull my TT. It came with in a dash navigation system using Cd's for different parts of the country. I am sure that things have changed since 2004 and am wondering if any one else uses this type of GPS or knows if you can get updated Cd's. Thanks a bunch Mud Puppy

My 2007 F150 in-dash nav system has a DVD for its data. Ford has replacement, updated DVDs for around $150, and I suppose they'd have CDs for your unit, as well.

It is probably cheaper to buy a standalone GPS than to buy maps for that old dog of a nav system. For around $125-$150 you can pick up a good TomTom or Garmin GPS with lifetime maps, and it will be a superior system to the one now installed as well. For just current maps, good for at least 2-4 years of use, you can spend well under $100.

Hi All
Yes it is a problem with a in dash unit I have a Alpine one in my F550 and the maps are out of date and I have only had it a year but the map system was made 2 -3 years ago, some time it cannot find its way out of a paper bag!
I see that Rand McNally have a new unit out its a TripMaker® RVND™ 5510 its made for RV's, has any one on the forum have one yet and can let us all know what its like?

looking at the Rand Mcnally web site I see thay have made one for Trucker's for some time so one would hope they know what is we need on a RV and help would be good as I will have to buy a new GPS very soon.
