Rest Stops?
We usually take advantage of these whenever we go on a long road trip. But we stay no more than a couple of hours. How many else here use rest stops along interstate highway systems?

We've also used the rest stops quite frequently and even spent a few nights there, especially when we are just way too tired to keep on driving. It's a hella lot safer than going off the highway and trying to find a Walmart like what most other people would do.

Whats the matter with walmart, they are safer than most reststops. They have security, well lite, just off the road of any major highway and you can restock your groceries.

Lots of Walmarts don't allow overnight parking, murffdog. Not to mention that before you can go there, you need to get off the highway and find one that will actually allow you to stay for the night. That can be a whole lot more tiring and frustrating than just going into a rest stop and using it to get some rest for a few hours and then go your own way.

That is, of course, if the Walmart will allow you to even stay there to begin with. There are lots of different Walmarts now that don't allow overnight parking. Quite frankly, the hassle of going from one Walmart to another just to see which one will allow you to stay makes rest stops a hella lot more appealing.
