Buying Used Tires
My friend recently told me that he got a really great deal on a set of tires for his RV. One catch: they are used tires. I personally don't mind buying used camping and RVing stuff. They really come out to be a bargain. But if there is one thing that I wouldn't risk is buying used stuff on what I consider to be very important things to keep me and my family safe on the road, and tires are one of them.

Re: Buying Used Tires
Used tires are one of those things that I will never get, no matter how much cheaper they are compared to brand new ones. For starters, you don't (and will never) know how the previous owner really used and stored these tires. Even though they may look okay on the outside, things like overloading and running while the tire is under inflated can cause internal damage in the tires that can make this extremely unsafe.

Re: Buying Used Tires
I agree with all of you. The whole thing sounds rather crazy to me. It's just like having your oil changed in your RV and using the one that you drained from your car to replenish it. I know that's a bit going too far, but if you think about it, that's pretty much the way how it goes.

Re: Buying Used Tires
My husband recently shocked me that he got some used tires for our Motorhome. It was a good deal, so it was pretty okay. Haven't really had any problems then so I guess it's pretty safe for as long as you really check the tires very well and you get them from a reputable tire retailer and distributor.

Re: Buying Used Tires
There only time that I bought some used tires was a few years back from a really good friend who was in some tight financial jam. Aside from helping my friend out, I know him and how he takes care of his stuff, especially his tires. Other than that incident, wouldn't give it a second thought.
