Owning vs. Renting
So I'm watching television last night and this thought occurs to me:

"If you go on 3 or less trips a year in your RV, why wouldn't you sell your RV and just rent an RV for those few trips you take each year?"

By renting you get a new, clean, reliable RV without the financial responsibilities that go along with owning an RV. No annual insurance costs, maintenance, or storage costs to deal with.

Can anyone think of any reason why this wouldn't make sense?

Re: Owning vs. Renting
It's always good to start RVing by renting out first. You'd always be able to choose which model of RV you're most comfortable with should you wish to buy an RV in the future.

I agree. Rent the kind of RV you're considering to buy before you actually buy. You can check out the article on How to Rent an RV to find out how to go about it.

Re: Owning vs. Renting
Personally, I wouldn't just consider the number of trips each year as just the basis of whether you rent or buy an RV. For example, you can only be taking one trip per year, but that one trip can last three or four months on the road, and you do that every year, then it might be more practical to just simply buy one.

I agree. If you go on very long road trips, it's best to still go with buying one, even if you only travel once a year.
