Using Solar Panels During Winter
With the recent amount of snow we've been having, I decided to cover our motorhome to protect it. I use solar panels for charging my batteries. Unfortunately, when I went over to uncover it (I need to re register it), the battery levels were very low. Apparently, the solar panels weren't able to charge the batteries because it was covered. Do any of you know of a way on how to protect your motorhome against the snow and still be able to get the solar panels to charge the batteries?

Try cutting out the area where the solar panels are located and then patch it with a clear vinyl. That should allow some sunlight to go through to charge your battery.

Re: Using Solar Panels During Winter
Pretty ingenious. But wouldn't it be a lot more practical to just buy one?

Re: Using Solar Panels During Winter
We recently bought a solar cover system for our MH and it works really well. They got a flexible solar panel and a charge controller and alligator clips to transfer the energy into the battery. They pretty much waterproof, snow proof, humidity proof.
