Restoring White Plastic Toilet
Our once pristine white toilet in our RV has now turned yellow. What caused this and is there any way to bring this back to its nice white color?

Re: Restoring White Plastic Toilet
The yellowing is caused by overexposure to sunlight. We recently noticed our RV toilet starting to yellow. What we did is to clean it first and then apply a solution of one part clorox and one part water all over the toilet overnight. The next day, we rinsed it out with warm water and dried it out thoroughly. We do this once a month to keep its white color.

Depends on how bad the yellowing is. padmej's suggestion would work if the yellowing is not really that bad yet. But if it's way too yellow, scrape out the layer using some water and some fine sandpaper first before using the clorox solution. Increase the amount of clorox if it's really way too yellow.

Try out melissa's suggestion. Otherwise, best bet is to just buy a new one.

Soak the toilet in clorox overnight. That should solve it.
