Generator Keeps Stopping
We've been trying to prime our generator by holding the button down in our Motorhome before firing it up last weekend during our camping trip. But no matter how hard we try, it would only run for a few minutes and then it will just stop. We had the oil changed before we stored it mid-December last year. Our Motorhome is filled with gas. We ended up having a miserable time because we didn't have any power. Can anyone help?

Re: Generator Keeps Stopping
Recheck the oil level if it is full. Also check the gas filter. It might be dirty.

Re: Generator Keeps Stopping
As melissa said, check your oil, when it was changed, it must be "almost" overfilled. Also, being as it has been sitting, the carburator float and/or needle valve is stuck.

Re: Generator Keeps Stopping
Just like what murffdog and melissa mentioned, it can be the fuel is dirty. When that happens, it can gum up the fuel lines, fuel filter and carburetor and cause it to stop running. You can also check the spark plugs. Also, check the oil pressure if it's stuck. That also can cause it to stop running as soon as you release the start button.

Re: Generator Keeps Stopping
Might be the spark plugs or clogged fuel lines.
