I'm guessing that they shouldn't. They will know from your license and your tags. But I guess it's best to still get one, whether or not it's a requirement. Better to be on the safe side than to risk it.

Thankfully, we didn't have that sort of problem when we got ours. Still, thanks a whole bunch for giving us the heads up.

I'm guessing no since you don't live in the area anyway. I'm pretty sure that the police will be more aware about the policies when it comes to tags and licenses than most sales agents.
