Getting Rid of Mildew Problems
A friend of mine has been bitten by the RV bug and is now thinking of getting a pop up trailer for him and his family. I've been helping him do some research on which one would be the best option for them. One thing I've noticed though is that the biggest problems of most popup trailers is mildew. How bad a problem is this really, and how can they avoid this?

Mildew is definitely one of the common problems you can experience when it comes to owning a popup camper, especially when it is stored for long periods of time like during the winter months. Cleaning it thoroughly and making sure that it is 100% dry before storing it can help with the mildew problems.

Making sure that the popup camper is completely dry will help with the mildew problem. Running your heater for an hour or two on a regular basis can help with the humidity, especially during the winter months so that the moisture inside won't be too much and cause mildew to form. Getting some dehumidifiers and putting these in different parts of your camper can also lessen the moisture level and help with the mildew problem.

I've heard that putting some charcoal in different areas of the popup trailer can help deal with mildew as well as some of that musty smell that comes with it.

Yes, charcoal does work, but it can eventually get really messy in time.
