I am going on my first camping trip soon and I want to know what is better a sleeping bag or an air mattress? Where we are going it wont be cold but we'll be gone for 5 days and I am not sure if I'll get tired sleeping in a sleeping bag after awhile. im taking a small tent and i want to make sure everything fits

Air beds are often more comfortable, but you'll need to think about how much you can carry as they can be quite heavy. In which case a sleeping bag and a soft mat would be a good bet

If you're going to a drive to CG, why not take both, a lot more comfy, but if you're back packing, you may want to take just the sleeping bag.

Re: newbie
Thanks for the advice! We are driving to the campsite but we're not going in an RV or anything thats that big. We're going in a Toyota FJ Cruiser (I love this thing!), but 5 of us are going in the same car and we're all bringing our campgear so I think the sleeping bag with a mat will be better.
