This Darn Heat
We have the "itch" to go camping really bad. Haven't been since early spring, but right now, it's just too hot. Temperature around 102 with heat indexes around 110-115 during the day and even at 10 and 11 o'clock at night it's still around 95. Other than AC's, how do you deal with the heat, especially sleeping at night? Even if we had a AC, we have a 10 person tent (family of 7) and it seems to me, it would be hard to keep cool as hot and muggy it is at night.

I remember cancelling more than one campout due to heat when we had a popup (and no a/c). I don't deal well with heat either. Texas has too much heat & not enough rain; we're just barely digging out from winter, with too much snow & rain. Feast or famine, I guess. At least your season can extend well past September - can't say that for us up here in the north.

Can you ship some north? We will pay the freight haha. I think we have forgotten what warm is.

you can still stay cool with a window unit in you tent, but I would recommend a 10,000 BTU unit. I tried a 5000 BTU unit once, and it wasn't quite enough, but the 10K is great. check out acboot.com for a great way to connect it to your tent.

Re: This Darn Heat
We used to have a pup with no AC and we camped when it was 100+. We used fans both during the day outside and in the pup to sleep. I couldn't do it now but we loved it then. I would try an AC unit.
