Thor A.C.E.
We went by our local RV dealer to officially start our next MH shopping and looked at a used Itasca Class A, a new Chateau Class C and wound up looking at a Thor A.C.E. A.C.E is an acronym for A and C Evolution. It was impressive (at least to us). The one we looked at was the EVO 29.1.

I think the Class C part of it is the drop down bed over the cab. When we first entered the coach, it looked like another Class A with the open cab but there is a bed that folds up and conforms to the ceiling. Once lowered, it rests on a ledge and is about as big as a Class C over the cab bed.

Of course the salesman was playing up all the features and truthfully, I was impressed but I've not looked at many new MHs with the thought of actually buying new. Apparently, this style is very new and the coach we looked at had just arrived this past Thursday in time for the RV show next week in Louisville, KY.

The one drawback that I saw was the fact that part of the kitchen could not be accessed with the slide in. The sink, microwave and most of the storage could be, but the oven (who uses it anyway?) and a drawer & cabinet under the sink were blocked. I doubt that being a huge issue if one plans ahead though. Another minus in my book is the one sink but I could probably deal with that! LOL.

I think the MSRP is about $101,000 and the special "show" price was mid $70s. It's more than we want to spend but tempting considering the used Itasca wasn't a lot less than this.

Anyway, I wondered if anyone else had seen these and what your thoughts are on them.

Re: Thor A.C.E.
First time I've heard of it. Not sure about my husband. But will be sure to check this one out. Thanks for the heads up, henry!

Re: Thor A.C.E.
Either the price they told you is a bit too steep, or me and my husband got lucky. My husband and I test drove a Thor ACE a few months back. Fell in love with it. Give you the best of both worlds (Class A and C that is). When we asked, we were told that it was about $88,500. We're actually crunching up the numbers to see if we can afford the repayment if we sell our current Class C and get this one with financing. If all goes well still by next year, we might actually get this.

Re: Thor A.C.E.
madidi, where did you look to get that rate? I was also looking at the same model and was quoted about $100K for it as well.
