How does it work "first come - first served" in USA, esp California
Hello all.
I'm a foreigner and I plan to visit some state/national parks in California.
I wonder how does work "first come first served" on campgrounds.
Supposing I'm lucky, there is free place. Can I check-in and then take my car, take a tour and return back to my place?
Or after checked-in I have to stuck there till the morning?
regards for all

Hi ardabro. Once you've checked in you have been allocated a site and can then leave to tour and return back later. Typically a note is put up at the end of the site indicating it is taken.

Which state parks/national parks are you going to visit in California?

Julian.
