Re: Shopping for camping supplies
Same as Matthew. If it's critical stuff for the RV, I buy them in person. If not, online.

I shop fore everything online! Trust me as long as you visit a reputable merchant, there are 0 problems.

Its so convenent. My fav camping dealer is http://www.coleman.com/

check it out! good luck.

Sorry, Madidi, but I have to disagree on that one. Online shopping is more convenient, but just because you go with a reputable merchant doesn't mean that you won't encounter any problems. I tried to get a brand new tent online in this one online site. The first time I tried, an error came out saying that the purchase didn't go through. When it finally did, and I got my credit card bill, I found that I was billed twice by the company for the tent. It took me roughly two months to have the charges reversed.

I had the same experience as well, Matthew. Online shopping can be such a pain in the neck at times.

I do both, I get some things online, but I've found that I can get some things locally, cheaper, faster, & no shipping charges, plus you can put your hands on it & look it over BEFORE buying, you have to look around.

Re: Shopping for camping supplies
I agree. With the right bit of schmoozing and being friendly with the store owner, you can save yourself the frustration of buying something that won't suit your camping needs. There's one local store in town where I get some of my camping gear. The owner has become a good friend of mine that he's not afraid to tell me not to buy a particular product or to choose a different brand. It's that kind of concern and genuine customer service that you hardly find from online stores.
