Not to mention that it gives those that offer reservations one more reason to jack up their prices.

I've always preferred to just go out even without a reservation. It's part of the thrill of camping for me. That is, if I'm just alone or camping all with grown ups. Camping with kids is a completely different story.

I guess it depends on how you camp. It's a lot easier to find a campground if you're just tent camping. But if you're using an RV, you'll probably need reservations to make sure that you get everything you need (hookups, level pads, etc)

That's quite true. It's a lot easier if you're just tent camping. You get actually more options. RVing can be a bit more challenging.

The main reasons that I make reservations are, because after driving anywhere from 2-6 hours, I want to know that I actually have a site waiting for me, & not pull into a full campground, Plus I get the site that I want, not what is left over, & I have to take it because thats all thats left
