You're very lucky to be able to get the site that you want all the time. Whenever I make a reservation for our camping trips, we always are told that while we are guaranteed a slot in their camping ground, they cannot guarantee that they would be able to give us the specific site that we want. Sometimes we get lucky, and we do manage to get it. But if we choose to go camping, especially during the peak season, we just have to cross our fingers that the site we get at least close to the site that we want. |

| melissa, you can try calling them a few days before your actual camping trip to see if you can get to reserve the campsite that you've been eyeing for. Most campgrounds will guarantee you a space but not the area if you reserve way ahead in advance. But if you call them up like a day or two before you actual camping trip, some are able to reserve the site you want. |

| I agree. You get a better chance in getting the site that you want if you call them again a few days before your actual camping trip, provided that it's the off peak season. But if you're camping during the peak seasons like summer or spring break, the chances for you to get the campsite that you want is going to be rather slim. |

Probably depends on the campground, too. I remember we went camping with my folks last year. They made reservations for us to stay in this one campground. But even though we called a day before we headed out, they told us that they cannot accommodate our request for the site that we were hoping to get. It was back in May, and when we arrived, there weren't that much people even there. The most irritating part is that when we got there, the site was available, but it was reserved (and apparently guaranteed) for another group. Talk about major red tape! |

| Sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that, ejdixon. That really does suck! We had similar experiences with a few campgrounds just like that, too. That being the case, it sometimes is better that a lot of the campgrounds are starting to do away with the reservation policy. Some campground owners have just been abusing it for their own (or their family's own) benefit. |
