Re: Drinking Alcohol in the Campground
That's because it is easy to step on smashed glass with bare feet on a beach area. Not fun to do!

I have to say I'm ok with discrete drinking, especially a nice glass of wine with a meal. What miffs me are folks who don't pick up after themselves, leaving broken glass or burnt out cans in the fire rings. [People...what are you thinking? These things do not burn!!!] The the next person who uses the campsite has to clean up before they can start a proper fire.

Please if you want an alcoholic beverage, just remember to clean up and dispose of the bottle or can properly.

My sentiments exactly, CampingWife. That and those that don't seem to know how to handle alcohol in their system well. Had more than one experience in campgrounds where we had to deal with really noisy and rowdy neighbor.

Re: Drinking Alcohol in the Campground
A lot of campgrounds (or at least the ones that me and my family have been to) advise the campers about their No Alcohol in the Campground policy. Of course, there are always instances where you can bend these rules. I remember once I took my wife out camping and we brought a small bottle of wine with us (it was our anniversary that time). Never really had a problem with the rangers. Probably, the fact that we weren't noisy at all even after the alcohol.

I don't know where your looking but every state park that I know of have no alcohol posted. If you google such as Florida State Parks, you will see no alcohol. Private campgrounds are different, I've never seen one that "doesn't" allow alcohol.
Actually, it is more of a "by State" type thing, as NY allows alcohol in All but 3 or 4 of it's State Parks. Va has a law that says " It is illegal to consume, or openly display alcohol "IN PUBLIC", I considder inside my motor home as NOT in public.
Even places that don't allow it, I have never seen anyone come around & check a camper for alcohol, unless you're being an ass & flaunting it.
