Fondest Camping Memory
For me, that would have to be when me and my sons went camping with my dad, my brothers and their sons. 3 generations of campers enjoying the outdoors, hearing our dad tell our kids the same stories he used to tell us when we were younger. Seeing them laugh while me and my brothers and my dad would tell them about our little crazy antics. That camping trip was really priceless, and something that me and my sons would never forget.

So how about you? What is your most cherished camping experience?

Thanks for sharing that, TShisler. It's those kinds of experiences that makes camping really more enjoyable and definitely something to look forward to. Your story was, in a way, a bit bittersweet. My dad also was the one who got me interested in camping and I had a lot of great memories camping with him and my mom. Sadly, dad passed away two years ago. I admit, that there are times whenever I go camping that I get reminded of him. But in a way, it's a good thing 'coz it's like he's just right there with me.

That would have to be when I asked my wife to marry me 20 years ago. We have been avid campers and I took her to the Grand Canyon, her favorite place to go camping. It was perfect. Sunset setting and all.

I have a lot of good memories back in time about camping and that was gold time for me. I share my pictures on https://www.rushmypapers.me/ where you can see the travel places and other videos regarding camping and hiking.

I agree TShisler! It's really great when despite the age differences and lifestyles between generations, you still got something in common that you all love and enjoy.

I would have to say after all the many years of camping with family and friends in Europe and in the United States. The most cherished camping experience would have to be all the times that I spent camping with my dad. He started me out when I was only four years old sleeping in a tent during the summer in our backyard. That's when I got hooked on all of this camping stuff! Our family went to Europe and we bought a VW Camper and camped in 21 countries for nine months. And all the things we saw and did while there.
Then when I was in my early teen's and made it as far as I could with Boy Scouts. My father came home one night with used Army surplus jungle hammocks. So off we went that next week for what my dad called: " A Walk In The Woods" And that is just what it was. We lived on the edge of a small town in up state N.Y. and packed our backpacks up and off him and I went for three weeks off into the woods camping not knowing where we were heading off to? Yep it was fun alright. And that is it right there! My most cherished experience camping!
My father is gone and I am older now just hit sixty! But still camping in an RV now but still enjoying the hell out of it!
Thank's Dad!!

Summer camping trips w/ friends when I was still with the Girl Scouts. Being gone for a few days without our parents can be quite liberating and exciting and anxious growing up. Great times!
