Jack to level trailer

Hello all,

I have been camping all of my life, but last fall I purchased a travel trailer. I am getting better at backing it up and getting it into position but getting it level is giving me fits. Then I had an idea. If I have a heavy duty jack so I lift the trailer a bit then put the feet down? I am also thinking I need to get more of those orange blocks but I haven't had the chance to get out yet. I'm not talking about a lot of life on the jack just a little to get it perfect? What's everyone's feel on it?

Welcome to the forum, mroseto.

Jacks will definitely help, but they will not be enough to do the job of leveling your RV. Best to go out and buy those orange leveling blocks to level your trailer and then if you need some bit of extra support, then that's the time that you add the jacks.

If you're on a budget, wooden blocks will be enough. You can buy a large sheet from your local hardware store and then just cut them out. Just make sure that the wooden blocks fit the entire tire.

I don't know where your located but I have 3 10packs of the orange blocks, brand new never been used.
To level a trailer, (side to side) simply run your wheels up on 2x6 pieces of wood. (It may take 1 or 3 pieces) Forward or backwards, (up or down) simply raise or lower your tongue.

I'd also go for the orange blocks as the primary thing to use for leveling your trailer. Just use the jacks for additional support.
