| We use Calgon Water Softener, found in the laundry detergent aisle. You can use either powder or liquid. Liquid is more expensive, but you don't have to mix it with water. I use about 1/2 cap of liquid laundry detergent and add plenty of water so the Calgon doesn't just sit on the bottom of the tank. We are full-timers and have only used this method in 2 fifth-wheels and now in our motorhome. Only use it after every 5 or 6 dumps and no stinky odors. We used this method before becoming full-timers even when we stored the coach in between trips. |
