All 3 ways are great when it comes to Turkey. Deep fried when I need to feed the Football Crowd. Smoked when I want it for sandwiches. But my Thanksgiving Bird is cooked with charcoal on a Weber Kettle grill.

Looks like I'll have to eat what I just said about not eating turkey fried. Had some deep fried turkey legs over at my friend's house, and it really was good. Not at all as oily as I'd expected. She told me that one trick is to boil it first until it's nearly cooked before deep frying it. That way, it doesn't have to stay in the oil too long and it will still be tender. |
