Christmas Hobo Pie
My sister-in-law shared this to me during our recent camping trip. Pretty easy and so delicious.

Ingredients:

2 slices of white bread
1 tablespoon butter, softened
3 tablespoons of your favorite pie filling

Spread some butter on the bread. Place one of the slices of the bread on the hobo pie maker, butter side down. Spoon the pie filling in the center of the bread. Place the other slice of bread on top, butter side up.

Close the hobo pie maker. Cook over the campfire for about four minutes, turning occasionally to make sure that both sides are golden. Serve with cream.

Thanks for sharing this, padmej! Have you ever tried this with savory fillings, or will this only work for sweet fillings?

Re: Christmas Hobo Pie
We did this in our backyard when my son invited a few of his friends for some backyard camping over the weekend. Was a great way to finish up some of the leftover cherry filling from Thanksgiving and the kids loved it. Thanks for sharing this.

Re: Christmas Hobo Pie
Have been doing this recipe for a while. Favorite is this with some nutella and banana slices inside.
