| What is a good Emergency Road Service Plan? |

I have always used the Good Sam's Emergency Road Service Plan, but I just found out that AAA also has a road service plan. Has anyone used it? I use AAA for my F150 and my wife's Camry, but I'm not sure that I trust it with my Fifth Wheel.
Any ideas?

True, AAA has many options when it pertains to road side assistance. As with any plan.. there are fees so don't let anything or anyone fool you about what maybe right or wrong for you. Your main issue is the fact your interested in knowing if your F150 can tow a fifth wheel.. Best see if the F150 have a towing package.. and check to see (at sites which have the data you need in the vehicles towing capacity)
Typically one use to call and wait for an AAA truck to arrive.. and this still holds true, and the time delay can vary. However I have noticed many states now have AAA stores locate din around major highways. This means they can get to you faster. Beside not a day goes by when I do not see a AAA truck, van, car Carrier. No I'm not an expert on this.. But I have had a AAA account since 1982.. but never had to use it. (Knock On Wood) but its good to know they are there. |

| I carry Progressive Insurance which covers ERS, no sense paying for 2 plans. |

I've had Good Sam ERS since I began RVing in 1999. I had my first coach (36' gas) towed three times without incident. Another time, the front right tire blew along a highway. I had a spare. ERS dispatched a service truck. The tire was changed promptly. One time they dispatched a truck to air up a tire on my tow car. ( I was in a city and my air pump was in the rig.)
Last March on the way to ME from FL an aligator (torn truck tire tread) damaged the water/fuel separator filter on my diesel pusher. I was 5 miles north of the GA/SC border. I was able to coast onto the shoulder as I lost power (and prime). ERS dispatched a big boy truck from a shop 50 miles north of our location. We followed our home (we were still fulltiming) as it was towed to the shop. It was closing time but the folks stayed open to install a new filter and get the engine started.
As you have read, I have nothing negative to report regarding ERS.
