RV Parks near Gulf Shores, AL
We are planning to spend a month in the Gulf Shores area 6/1-7/1. I'm having a difficult time finding parks that 1) Have availability...and it's only February and 2) finding one that allows a monthly rate during this time. I made a reservation at Gulf Coast RV Park based upon reviews in the RV Park Reviews and then discovered that the reviews that are favorable are for the wrong park. Now I'm worried...other reviews that ARE for this park are terrible. So, now I've made another reservation at Doc's. Reviews are mixed and their website shows no pictures. Has anyone stayed at either if these parks? If so, should I cancel and keep looking?

Welcome to the forum, Vickie and Fred.

We've stayed at Doc's a couple of times. It's a pretty old looking park compared to the other campgrounds that we've stayed at. But it was clean and quiet. The staff is really nice and helpful. I'm not sure if they provide any monthly rate since we only spent about a week there. You might want to try Gulf Breeze RV Park if you're looking for a campground that offers RV rates. A friend of mine camped there about a week ago, and he told us that it was pretty okay as well.

Hope this helps.

Re: RV Parks near Gulf Shores, AL
We've stayed for a few days at Gulf Coast RV Park and it was pretty okay. The grounds were clean and so were the laundry, bathrooms and showers. During the day time, it can be a bit noisy in the morning. Hookups work fine. There's no free Wi-Fi and cable TV here available. We weren't really that much concerned about it though since we tend to stay away from using them while we're out camping unless we need to. The northern part of the campground is quite an eyesore, but that's because it's still recuperating from the wildfire that hit it a few months back. I'm not sure if they have any monthly rates since we just stayed here for the weekend.

Couldn't really provide you with any feedback on Doc's Campground since we haven't stayed here yet.

Hope this helps.

I'd also go with the Gulf Breeze RV park. Stayed there a couple of times and it's quite okay.
