FoxFi Not Working Despite Great Cellphone Signal
My husband and I recently downloaded FoxFi so that we can use our phones as a remote WiFi router. I use an iPhone with AT&T while my husband is using a Samsung. We both have really good signal while we were in the campground. But when we tried to use it, it was so slow. As in the speed of the dial up modem days when the Internet was just starting to become popular. Yes! It's that slow! I thought that for as long as we have really good cellphone signal, FoxFi should work really fast and fine.

Has anyone ever used this app? How do we fix this? Thanks in advance.

I've heard about it, but haven't really used it yet. But in answer to your question about the cellphone signal, good signal doesn't necessarily mean a great internet service. The signal is for the voice calls. There are other things that can be considered like tower traffic, network traffic, etc.

I'm actually using mine right now and it's working like a charm. Did you do the update? Try updating it first and then restart your phone.

This is interesting, are you saying that this appt is a router for WiFi? Can be used as a router from my Sprint i-phone and it works? I'll look but I'd like to see what you guys say.

murffdog,

From what I know, FoxFi turns your phone into a WiFi hotspot. But it only works on Android phones. I use PdaNet on my iPhone. Works the same way. It's not free like FoxFi, but it works really great.
