When on the road for long periods of time, it's easy to get out of the habit of exercising regularly. Fortunately, there's something you can do to ensure you keep your muscles toned and your heart healthy - get yourself a set of resistance bands.
Resistance bands look like giant rubber bands and are often used by physical therapists to help their patients gain strength. While they are initially tricky to get used to, the bands are incredibly versatile because they allow you to execute the same exercises you do with dumbbells and other bulky weights. The bands come in a variety of tensions, from light to heavy, so whether you are a body builder or just looking to keep fit, there's a band for you. Try Sports Authority or Target to find a resistance band that works well for you.
No matter which muscle you are looking to work out, there is most likely a resistance band exercise that focuses on that muscle and an abundance of websites Exercise workouts - Resistance bands, How to do resistance band exercises offering training guides and tips. These websites offer tips on using resistance bands properly.
Many of the resistance band exercises can be performed within the confines of your RV by tying the band to a door handle. If you're not afraid of embarrassing yourself, you can also take the bands outside for more room. There's no reason you should not be able to exercise when you travel. Heading off in your RV doesn't mean hitting the brakes on good health. Be sure to eat well and keep those muscles toned!
