| The real lowdown on Burlingame State Campground |
First you need to know that RI implemented a fee increase in June 2019 for all state campgrounds. Resident went from $14 to $18 on sites, and from $35 to $50 on cabins. Nonresident went up ridiculously from $20 to $36, pull-thrus are $45 and cabins went from $35 to $75. There is no water/electric hookups for any site or cabin. There are about 713 rentable sites total and 20 cabins.
The best source for anything about Burlingame is the website www.bound4burlingame.com. This is a website created/maintained vountarily by Burlingame campers. It's the only place you will find videos and photos of every campsite/cabin in the park. Plus, all kinds of other info for campers visiting the area. Their campground map far exceeds the one used by the state/campground and is scalable and in color with icons for bathrooms, portajohns, water, dumpsters etc. The state puts little effort in putting info out there for any of the state campgrounds and it's definitely not updated. Hence, the picture and spotlight blurb about the yurt, which has been obsolete for about 25 years now! The Bound4Burlingame youtube channel helps so much when trying to pick a campsite. They ask that you show your support by following them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest.
There's a campsite suitable for all tastes. Grassy, shady, sunny, large, small, solo, groups. Each section has its own pros/cons. Reach out to bound4burlingame with questions.
