| Awesome park, great views, nice hiking | This park is a favorite in the fall. The park has fabulous fall colors with views of the point where the Mississippi and Wi rivers come together. There is an apple festive in Gays Mills each fall and the apple orchards are all decked out. There is no lake for swimming, however there is ample space for canoeing and kayaking on the river.

Camping sites in this park are over grown and hard to find. The site we had reserved was over grown with 2 foot high grass and the sign was hidden in brush. This park was under construction last summer and the main attraction (the area around the rock with petroglyphs) was closed. There is no swimming at the park however you can travel one mile down the road to Friendship to swim among the locals, however I would not recommend this for families as the "crowd" was not family friendly and was visited by the police. On the positive side, the park was pretty vacant with minimal campers.

| Wonderful park with natural air-conditioning | This park is a favorite during the heat of the summer. Lake Michigan naturally cools the park and provides a haven for campers. The park has few hiking trails, however the beach is long and plentiful, and the education center is splendid and has planned activities most days. There is a Teepee that can be reserved, however plan well in advance if you want to use it is it books up early.

| Beautiful rivers and waterfalls | This is an all around great park. Swimming, camping, and easy to moderate hiking trails with fabulous views of numerous waterfalls. The only draw back to the park are the horse flies. Mid to Late June The flies come out in droves and bite like crazy. Long pants and shirts will help during this time, but if you are camping with small children it is best to choose a different time to go.

This was the best park I have ever been to. The ranger has lived on the island for 9+ years and knows the island like the back of his hand. He took the time to teach our kids about foraging, history of the island, and has the boat house stocked with gloomy weather activities. I was skeptical about going here as you are stuck on the island if bad weather comes and with young children I thought this might be a challenge, however it was the camping trip of our dreams. Many people go to the island for the day, but staying for several is the way to go. Make sure you have good hiking gear, pack light, and invest in backpacking backpacks as there are no wheeled vehicles on the island (other than the rangers truck).

This is a big park with lots of camping sites, 2 beaches for swimming, and one for dogs. Dogs are not allowed on swimming beaches or grassy areas, however are allowed on the trails. There are plenty of trails to be hiked, including one that takes you down to a creek with a +15 foot waterfall where kids and grown-ups alike can splash around and be merry on a hot summer day.

| Great Park with amazing views, go off season. | This a great park with wonderful hiking trails and splendid views. It is a very busy park so if you are looking for a quiet camping trip then try going off season. May or Early June are still quiet and after kids go back to school it quiets once again. This park offers rock-climbing, hiking, swimming, non-motor boating and abundant wildlife if you take the time to look for it.
