| Great park, TERRIBLE rangers |
Our family and friends stayed at Coon Fork Campground during 7/4-7/7. The park itself is great. There are many things you can do, including going to the beach. The camp sites (depending on which one you stay at) offer plenty of shade with the mature trees. Some of the fire pits need to be fixed; it's amazing how it hasn’t been since the last 2-3 years that I know of for sure. It’s a great campground, but here is where the HUGE drawback starts. The park rangers specifically make staying and ever returning to the park unbearable. I would never recommend anyone EVER staying here, and please take my review seriously as I am writing this from experience and everything I state in this review is 100% correct regardless of what any park ranger will tell you. They will make sure to point the finger at you, or at me for that matter, because they are “just doing their job."
The first issue we had family visiting; they stopped at our campsite for only a short while, drop off coolers, a kayak, chairs, etc. I understand there is a 2-car limit rule, but it was only for a short time. We always had the intent of moving the vehicles after packing and unpacking things up or at least within the hour because they weren’t staying long. But when they come and try to talk to you, they are extremely rude and not polite at all. They march up to you as if they are above you and you're just some speck in the sand. It’s very demeaning.
We stayed here in a Tent.
