A lot of time and effort can go into planning an RV or camping trip. You must decide where you want to go, what to do when you get there, what to eat, and how much it will cost.
Cost. Wouldn't it be nice if it didn't cost so much? After food, fuel, and gear, you can still expect extra fees when you reach your destination.
However, in the year of 2013, the National Park Service is waiving entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees at over 100 national parks in an effort to boost tourism. You may still have to pay for reservations, camping, and use of concessions, but hey, if you're interested in paying less for your family vacation, read on.
Starting in January on Martin Luther King Jr. Day the National Park Service presents free admission. Next in April, for National Park Week you'll get an entire week of free admission to National Parks across the country. After this, August offers National Park Service Birthday and in late September NPS grants free admission for National Public Lands Day. Finally, NPS offers free dates for Veterans Day Weekend in November.
At CampingRoadTrip.com, we encourage you to take advantage of this offer. We want to know all about your trip, see your photos, and read your reviews so submit your photos, review your campgrounds and share your stories.
Mark your calendars for the following fee-free dates later this year:
- January 21, 2013 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- April 22-26, 2013 - National Park Week
- August 25, 2013 - National Park Service Birthday
- September 28, 2013 - National Public Lands Day
- November 09-11, 2013 - Veterans Day Weekend
