Solid Layover in Need of TLC

A great "springboard" stop for DFW metro-area RVers headed east.

On caveat: the city of Shreveport's section of I-20 is like driving the roads in an undeveloped nation. Surely the worst-maintained, roughest stretch in the entire Interstate highway network. To make it worse, area drivers are consistently mean and impatient. You WILL be cut off, denied lane changes, 80% of the time. Use extreme caution.

One of the easiest entries, once practiced: Simply go south on Diamond Jack's Blvd, select the right lane for the straight/right option, go directly across into the Casino, follow the sign left to the RV park past the self-park area. It's an all-pull-through design, maximum pad length is spare for big rigs, at 70 feet.

Per other reviews, this initally pristine offering now suggests an insufficient maintenance budget and placid management. Litter is a problem, small items have been not dealt with. But, the utilities array is ideally located, good power and water. I've not been able to make the cable TV work the last two visits, and WiFi is okay before dawn and late in the evening.

The last stay, we watched in horror as a garbage truck charged in, driving through the park at 40 mph to noisily service the dumpster. This visit, a tractor trailer rig sped through, using the park as a turnaround for the adjacent self-parking area. Again, pointing to a management problem.

Despite these downsides, we use this park regularly.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
