Convenient location to town and interstate. Campsites in the lower areas have easy lake access and even some lakeviews. Nice views of the bridge. Sites in the lower area are a bit small and seem crowded, especially with all the vehicle parking. The restrooms were clean and bright. Showers were pretty good. We were there the first of August and it was packed with loads of families. Off season would probably be quieter and quite lovely.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

After being on the road for almost seven weeks, we decided to wind down at the Straits State Park before heading home. This a lovely park. It sits on the north side of the Mackinaw Bridge, which is visible from the lake shore and a short walk from any campsite. The campsites are maintained and there is plenty of shade due to the abundance of large trees throughout the park. While you do get some road noise due to the close proximity of the bridge traffic, it isn't a major nuisance. Firewood is available on the "honor" system and a large grocery store is only minutes from the park. Downtown St. Ignace is close by. We were there during the last part of August (before Labor Day) and the park was only half full. I would highly recommend this park.
