The Childs Glacier Recreation Site is closed to vehicle access indefinitely. A bridge located at 36 mile on the Copper River Highway, used to access the Childs Glacier Recreation Area, has been deemed unstable by the Department of Transportation. New bridge construction might not begin until 2015 at the earliest. If you have any further questions call the Cordova Ranger District at 907-424-7661.
