Goose Point Campground in Bassett VA, is our go to quick getaway weekend favorite. We have stayed lakeside and also up top. Love it more every time we go! Reserve early and often!

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

Horrible Stay

If you ever decide to visit PHILPOTT LAKE near Bassett, Va. I would strongly advise DO NOT CAMP THERE. The lake is controlled by the Army Core of Engineers, who I admit do a great job of keeping the place clean. However, sending us to another location to launch our boat (there's was flooded), then LOCKING US OUT of the campsite and expecting us to walk a mile to our camp in the dark wilderness and get eaten by black bears....... folks I decided on safety, tripped the exit gate and went through like the rebel I am. The act of giving me a "warning" .... having "quiet time" after 10pm ... no alcohol allowed anywhere .... MAKES LAKE PHILPOTT SUCK!!! You can always count on any government interference to ruin a good thing.

We stayed here in a Tent.
