Nice, large park with lots to do.

This large park is scenic and quiet and there is a lot of space and privacy between most camp sites. Parking pads are in great shape although a bit narrow, and most are very shady. Water pressure was 72 PSI, and there was some slope to our site, so bring a water pressure regulator and some boards for leveling. A few sites have a view of the lake through the trees. We stayed in #12 and really liked the privacy and view. We had no problems with insects in November. Utilities are good and Verizon cell phone coverage is available as well as WiFi at the office. There is a small store at the office with a few souvenirs. Amenities include hiking trails, fishing piers, boat ramps, and kayak and SUP rentals. There are several large day use areas for swimming and picnicking. Firewood and ice are available at the office, but the nearest groceries are about 20 minutes away in Sulphur Springs. Sulphur Springs also has a nice square around the beautiful downtown courthouse with lots of shops and eateries as well as America's only public bathrooms with see-through walls! We enjoyed camping, hiking, and boating on this large lake.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
