We have stayed here many times in the group sites. Always a great time. You have to keep the coolers out of sight and keep food cleaned up because of the bears, and the rangers are strict about it. Beautiful woods. Where we camp there is a creek that flows through the woods, and it is great to cool of in. Affordable camping. The bathrooms could be cleaner but I guess that is harder to do so in the group camping area with all the people using them.

We camp in a Volkswagen Vanagon

We stayed here in a Truck Camper.

Really Beautiful Campground - Bear Country so beware

I have stayed in Stokes twice and both were great experiences. The campground is strict on keeping you cooler in your car as this in in bear country. The first time we stayed in site 7 which is a great walk to on the lake front, only drawback was the short walk to the car to get food. Its not a huge inconvenience but after a 3 day stay it gets old. Second time we stayed at Site 12 (a platform site) and it was off the lake and while near the road not near any other sites so quiet at night. This site was drive in so keeping the cooler in the car was a lot easier. The facilities are the best I have come across while camping, the main block has clean bathrooms and showers, over all a great peaceful site I happily recommend.

We stayed here i
