Local Directions: Located approximately 35 miles east of the Bay Bridge, just off MD Rt. 404, on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Travel east on Rt. 50/301 across the Bay Bridge. Rt. 50/301 splits, bear to the right on Rt. 50. Make a left at the intersection of Rt. 50 and Rt. 404. Go approximately 8 miles until you come to the intersection of Rt. 404 and Rt. 480. Make a left on Rt. 480. To your immediate left take Eveland Road. Once on Eveland Road follow directional signs to area of choice.

| Great Park - Would definitely go back. | |
Labor Day weekend at Tuckahoe State Park exceeded our expectations in every way. Located in a peaceful agricultural area on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the drive there itself is a stress reliever.
We stayed in the electric loop in a teardrop camper. All campsites were level, soft dirt pads covered with very fine gravel and well shaded with old growth trees. The modern, clean bathhouse is in the middle of the camping loop. Every site has a path leading to it which makes it close and convenient, yet very inconspicuous, to every site. The bathhouse also has a small room with a large double utility sink to be used for dish washing by those who don't have a gray water management system.
Firewood is self-service, honor system, $4 per bundle at the entrance gate.
The park rangers were very friendly. They patrolled the park regularly all day and evening, and always gave a friendly wave as they passed by.
There are four adorable little camping cabins for rent at the entrance to the campground.
Due to the head we only hiked a short portion of the 12 mile hiking trail, but it was very pleasant, well marked, covered with shade trees, no overgrowth. We hope to go back in cooler weather to tackle a longer portion of it. The park contains Tuckahoe Lake which appears to be popular for kayaking as all the kayaks at the park boat house were out and most campers had brought them.

We stayed here in June '11 on site #9 in the electric loop. Nicely wooded sites, with trees between most sites for privacy. The outer loop sites have a bit more privacy but a lot drop off at the back. There are nature trails to walk and a frisbee golf course. They have canoe, kayak rentals, an equestrian center and a nearby arboretum with miles of hiking trails. Within an easy bike ride if you bring your bikes. The campground is located about 9 miles off RT 301 on back roads, but an easy drive even with a big rig. Rangers patrol about every hour. The only complaint that we had during our 2-night stay was that the toilet paper and soap in the bathrooms was not kept stocked well. Had to ask twice for the paper to be replenished. Day visitors are not charged a fee. We will go back again for sure.

We stayed here in September and really enjoyed it. The site was level gravel surrounded by mature trees. I enjoyed hiking the trails and biking around the countryside. The park is located out in the country where we could watch the farmers harvest their corn and soybeans. There is a nice little town called Ridgely not too far away where we found a very nice diner.
