Nice Stay South of Atlanta

While High Falls State Park isn't the best Georgia has to offer, it does make a nice, quick getaway from the city life. Located about an hour south of Atlanta, High Falls is an easy weekend trip.

The park has two campgrounds - one on a lake and one on a river. I stayed in the river campground. This area has a few sites alongside the river - but don't get too excited. The river is usually low, muddy and inaccessible. The view across the river isn't all that pleasant, as it is private property and there are some house trailers.

There are two loops, one with some pull-thrus. Not much privacy with any of the sites, but there are a few that offer a modicum of privacy.

Even though it isn't the most private or picturesque campground, I'll make the trip south to High Falls State Park again in the future.

We stayed here in a Popup Trailer.
