OK for overnight stay – restrooms/showers were unexpectedly a nice surprise

December 5, 2017
Most recent stay was overnight July 7, 2017. We camped in a little rig, Tear Drop style RV, only 15' long w/o toilet or shower. We like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection. We rely on condition of campground's facilities nearby our site, so our critique is focused in that area.

We did get close to the restroom/shower building which was across the roadway from our site #12. The building was newly built with modern fixtures. Restrooms and showers are all in same large room separated by stalls with communal sink area in the open. Showers are fully tiled floors and walls, with ample hooks and adjacent changing area with portable stool in a private stall. Missing is a rubber floor mat as you exit the shower that would keep your feet off the wet floor. At the communal sink area, missing are convenience items like paper towels that could be used to help clean up after use. It was very messy and also need hooks between the mirrors for your hand towels and small shelves for your toiletries stuff.

Overall, the camp was well groomed and tidy, with all level sites, a sparkling swimming pool, mini golf, kid’s playground etc. Our site was a W&E only, but the camp had a nice dump station adjacent to the restroom/shower building. The roadways are paved as are some sites, while others were mixed gravel and grass. There is some grass covered green space between sites.

We stayed here in a Teardrop Trailer.

Nice Campground for Visiting Lexington

About 30 mins from Lexington, located outside Frankfort. The entrance is a bit misleading as it looks like the campground is made up of mobile trailer homes. But you pass them to reach the campground.

The campground is in good condition. A creek runs along two sides of it and they have a number of riverside sites. There are a number of seasonals there, but didn't meet any. most seem to be empty during the week.

We stayed two nights and had a flat, full-hookup, paved site with a wooden platform for our picnic table. There was also a fire ring. The site services worked well.

Laundry was clean and the washers and dryers worked well and were well priced at only $1. The bathhouse was very clean and had hot showers with good water pressure.

They had a swimming pool that was closed as it was late in the season, a nice looking mini golf course and large pavilion. They sold propane.

They don't have much of a camping store. WiFi was flaky, and the area we were in the sites were too close together for my liking, end to end and side to side. However other sites are better spread out in the campground.

Great location to base yourself when visiting Lexington or to stop over for one night when passing through.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.
