Our Winnebago/Itasca motorhome owners group camped here during August 2015 for one of our monthly outings and to see the nearby air show at the Lancaster airfield. We found the campground staff welcoming and helpful. They have a gated entrance but I noted that there were places where a vehicle could drive across the grass from Pinch road and into the campground, bypassing the entrance gate entirely.

The campground has been around for awhile, but it has mostly been modernized. Most sites are level, gravel-covered and have full 50-amp hookups. Our hook-ups worked flawlessly. There are clean unisex restrooms and private showers for campers who need them. Their outdoor swimming pool, store, laundry, playground and other amenities were well-maintained.

There are both open and shady campsites that accommodate tents, trailers and motorhomes. Rental cabins are available for campers who don't bring their own RV or tent. Propane is for sale by the pound or the gallon. The pond is located adjacent to the heavily-traveled Pennsylvania Turnpike, so fishing in it is not a quiet, serene experience.

From our campsite near Pinch Road there was a constant din of motorcyclists blasting their exhausts as they roared past, but once darkness settled in that two-wheel traffic and their noise stopped, so we could enjoy a good night's sleep. Overall our experience here was positive.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

Best in the area

I've been to a lot of campgrounds in the area and I consider Pinch Pond as one of the best. The place is neat and the staff are very friendly. Some of the amenities like the kids' playground look dated but they are in tiptop shape. They've got a very nice, well-stocked fishing pond and while it was a long walk from our site to the pond, the walk was worth it because of the beautiful wooded scenery. The sites had full hookups, are well-shaded, roomy and level. The only problem we had was the noise from outside the park. It's close to the turnpike, so there's some road noise. There's also a gun club next door, but the noise coming from there is thankfully sporadic. Still, it's definitely worth staying at this campground.

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.
